Crazy enough for ya ? Look at this puppy ! Tucked away under the bed of wood is a 455 cu. Olds Toronado engine hooked to its original 1968 Toronado transaxle ! A brainstorm of Don Condon of Las Vegas , and further customised by Brian Hare of El Cajon , CA , THE ENTIRE FRONTCLIP from the Toronado was grafted to the rear of this chevy. The stock steering was welded together and the suspension was updated with Corvette shocks and Chevelle bigblock springs. This set up also provided discbrakes for the rear and allowed the front suspension to be fitted with Mustang II frontclip. Fourwheel discbrakes help slow this mutant beast beast as fluid flows from a Camaro power booster and master cylinder. The 455 cu. block ( with original Moon valve covers ) was bored out to 467 cubes and fitted with TRW high compression pistons , a Crane cam and angle cut valves. An extensive exhaust system includes polished Turbo mufflers with 2,5 " pipes. The engine now delivers over 425 horsepower to the wide 18,5 x 15 Mickey Thompson rear tires mounted on Centerline rims.. Hundreds of hours were spent turning a once trimladen body into a smooth and flawless work of shaved art. The old side vents were filled as well as the doorhandles and chromed hood trim. Stock grillebars are all that remain. To make the body as slick as possible , the front fenders have been molded to the body. A custom stakebed was fabricated with a taillight panel and a big " bowtie " light added in the center of it. The understated interiorpackage fits well within the classic cab design. Gray pile carpeting that covers the floorpan features handmade brackets that hold up Recaro bucket seats made for the limited Shelby Shadow CSX. Below the Grant steeringwheels shines the stock dash which was fitted with Stewaer / Warner gauges. A custom panel to accomodate the AC and stereo controls was built to fit between the seats. Under the hood we find - instead of the engine - a custom made 15 gallon fuel cell along with a polished airtank which supplies the air to operate the woodsided and diamond plated tilt bed. Both inner fenderwells have been smoothed and all painted to match the exterior. This truck is a true work of art and an engineering feat and it will please anyone's eyes for a long time looking at all the details of this cool truck. Please note these pictures were taken when the truck was just unloaded and not been detailed yet. Please inquire for price , thank you.
