1984 Johnson Presidential Roadster
- This factory built 1984 Johnson Presidential Roadster was inspired by the famous and goodlooking Clenet series I roadsters built by Alain Clenet in Santa Barbara California. They basically used the same body except the Johnson has sidemounted spare wheels and a rumbleseat.
It is built using a Cadillac engine and has automatic transmission , powersteering and brakes and wirewheels.
Johnson was a small factory in Florida in the 80's and mostly known for their later models called Phantoms , based on a Camaro or Firebird. These Presidentials were a very limited production run , and a better built and better looking car than the later models in my humble opinion. This particular car needs everything ; it has been sitting for quite a while , and it needs paint and some light bodywork , interior and a top , as well as mechanically looked over.
The interior : the doorpanels are not ripped , but need to be dyed because they're faded. The seats need to be recovered. The carpet may be able to be cleaned , not replaced. The top needs replacement , but is the same as a MG Midget , so only a few hundred dollars , and you'll be able to buy a MG Hardtop for it too ; it will fit ! The wire wheels may or may not clean up when polished. The engine will run for a few moments when you pour gas into the carb. If you always wanted one of these , and you cannot afford the $ 20,000 to $30,000 current market price , and you have some skills and time , or a good contact to help you restore it , this may be your chance..
I will sell this car VERY cheap , but I do still HIGHLY recommend you inspect it anyway ; it's just not worth a headache ..Pls CALL me if you need more info , thanks ! JP , 954 5250600
ATTENTION : I'm listing this car as a 1980 , but it is titled as a 1984 with the correct vehicle identification number of JOHNS41CAS1R4FX6 which is a sixteen digit number.
